Karrot

Karrot (당근마켓) is South Korea’s leading community-based secondhand marketplace, designed to connect neighbors for safe, hyperlocal transactions. With over 20 million downloads, it was named Google Play’s “Best App of the Year” in South Korea in 2019.

As an Operations Manager Intern on the Secondhand Transactions Team, I learned the intricacies of trust and safety management at scale—handling user reports, identifying fraud patterns, and contributing to product ops conversations that shaped the platform’s policies. Working within a fast-growing team gave me firsthand exposure to agile decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and the urgency required to maintain integrity in a rapidly expanding user base. It was exciting, high-paced, and incredibly rewarding to be part of a team that directly shaped user experiences millions rely on every day.
